During this episode Dave & Corian come to us from their couch to discuss what our world looks like now. The gym has been closed for a month already due to the COVID pandemic, and is likely to continue as our stay-at-home order is extended.

In this episode we touch on our reactions to circumstances and how we respond to others — it is our responsibility to respect others beliefs. When you try to force someone to share your beliefs, neither side wins.

So what does a world after a global pandemic look like?

The normal that we knew prior to this is gone. Our society has been forever changed. Take a breath, relax, and ask yourself, “If things stay this way, or close to this, how can I live within this reality?”

You can’t hold on to how things used to be. Our future is forever changed. You don’t have to agree with the new reality in order to accept it, but unless you accept it, you cannot take the appropriate steps to grow with it.

What about the future of HPCF Racine?

Our Emergency Slow Open Response Procedures:

  • Limited class sizes (number TBD)
  • Taped off 10 ft sections/boxes
  • Coaches will set out equipment in each box the night before
  • Staggering class time to reduce overlap of people
  • Continue offering virtual classes
  • Eliminate open gym hours.

We are placing money in an emergency fund to use at a later date. The gym would match any donations which would then be used to help members who are struggling financially. Any funds not distributed would go back to our members in a fun way. If you would like to help, please reach out and let us know.

Where Did All The Motivation Go?

We are creatures of habit and our routines have been flipped upside down, so what do we do to stay motivated? You will need to find a new routine; create new habits. What you try the first time may not work…keep trying.
