Last episode, we sat down with Dr. Heather Peterman to discuss Adrenal Fatigue and we are back this week to talk about a similar condition: Leaky Gut Syndrome.
Much like Adrenal Fatigue, a main contributor to Leaky Gut Syndrome is stress. High amounts of stress combined with the “standard American diet” (which is high in empty calories and low in nutrition) can wreak havoc on our gut health.
How exactly does Leaky Gut present itself? It could be acne, inflammation, or hormonal changes. If left untreated long enough, it could even develop into an autoimmune disease.
So what can you do to combat this?
- Replace the GOOD
- Remove the BAD
Just like with Adrenal Fatigue, you cannot begin by removing the BAD things. Your body is already stressed. Start by doing more GOOD, then take additional steps from there.
It is never too late to start taking care of your body and your gut! Listen to your body – it knows what it needs and don’t be afraid to seek out alternative medicine.
