The Compass

A Quick Look Back

Another month has come and gone and now that we are into the first part of March, I wish we were reporting better weather… but it appears we are still in the thick of winter for a little while longer….

Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s look back to all the fun stuff we had going on in February!

WOD & Wine was another fun community event with friends, a WOD and of course, some tasty wine!

The Kenosha Athlete Lounge underwent phase 2 of the renovation projects and now has an AWESOME new cubby system for those gym bags! ….and we made an improvement to the bench design. We have a few more upgrades planned over the next few months that we can’t wait for you all to see!

Intramural Open / The CrossFit Open kicked off with a bang! Our HPCF Ambassadors did an awesome job getting the word out in the box telling people about the Open and getting tons of sign ups for the 2nd season of the Intramural open. I don’t know about you, but I am having fun watching everyone’s creativity with the team challenges, and we still have a few more weeks left!

February marks month number two (2) for the new Committed Club  Congratulations toUrsula Swift and Nick Lamar for winning the Coffee swag from Starbucks! If you didn’t win the raffle this month, don’t worry, you still have the entire month of March to get your visits in AND if you’ve already recorded the past 2 months on the list, then you will be in the running for the quarterly drawing on April 1st if you qualify for this next month’s committed club!

Congratulations to EVERYONE who made the
Committed Club this past month!

The Steerage

January 2018 Member of the Month Spotlight

Our February Member of the Month Spotlight goes to…

Kristine Schmaling

Each month we like to recognize 1 member of either gym who stands out among the rest of the crowd. Each of the members we choose to highlight hold true to Peak Performance’s Core Values, which are: “Happy. Healthy. Community.”

Each one of these values stands for the following:

Healthy: Healthy stands for what we do in the gym. We improve people’s health & wellness and we increase their longevity.

Happy: Happy stands for how we conduct our business. We promote a positive and empowering environment for our members and staff to thrive in.

Community: Community is what we do it for. We are cultivating a community of people dedicated to improving their health and wellness and a community where everyone feels welcome and has a sense of belonging.

This month, Kristine stood out to our entire staff for her commitment to go above and beyond for everyone around the gym. Kristine has taken it upon herself to print off the weekly ITK recipes for both gyms and has really embraced her ambassador role to help new members become more comfortable in the gym. She also played a huge role in helping us spread the word around the gym(s) for the open.

Upcoming Events To Mark Your Calendars

(Click the links below for more info)

A Special Note: We’ve had some feedback from members who are not on the social media platforms (Facebook) and therefor feel that they cannot see upcoming events, or other gym news.

Solution: To help these members who prefer not to use social media, we have now been posting ALL events to our website and have created a link at the top of the home page that reads “Upcoming Events” for easy access! You can also access the Events Page here <—

Captain’s Log

Episode 47 & 48:

On Ep. 47 of the Anchored Podcast, the crew sit down with Seth Wagner of Pure Spectrum CBD Oils, to ask specific questions on their product – What is CBD? How does it work? What can it help? Does it contain THC? Seth gives some great insight on the current market of CBD. This is definitely a great episode to catch if you haven’t already listened!

On Ep. 48, the crew do a short little podcast episode on the testing phase of WODIFY. Breaking down the steps and what you all can expect if the product passes the testing phase! As long as we can test the system, and it goes well, you can expect us to implement it.

P.s. We are now on Stitcher! (Not sure what Stitcher is? ….It’s a podcast thing.)

Section 8:

From The Passenger Deck – Social Comments of the Month

This one comes at you from Racine Member Jordan Savaglio… This post caught our attention for a few reason; 1) Jordan came out of his comfort zone to share a true life personal battle with us all. 2) If you’re familiar with Jordan’s story, it is truly remarkable to listen to how far he’s come and what he has accomplished to be able to follow his dream of doing CrossFit, and; 3) he’s doing it to inspire others! Keep up all the hard work Jordan, we see you!

Stay tuned for The Anchored Podcast Ep. 049 in which we interview Jordan!

Section 09:

March’s Swashbuckler Award

This month’s shout out goes out to Kritine Schmaling! This is just a coincidence that she also received our M.O.M. award… But we saw this post and just went “WOW!” – Kristine won’t admit that she’s lost weight (because the scale is the same)… But we can definitely see the results!

Psssttt Kristine! We have news for you… It’s called losing the body fat and putting on the lean muscle! And you look amazing! Great job!

Want to be featured? We scour social media for all of your before & after photos, and when we see you post it, we try and grab it to showcase all the hard work and dedication you all put in, day in and day out! So… Get out there and share your amazing results!

Section 10:

Ship Upgrades

Have you seen the Kenosha Lounge recently?

Thanks to Coach Kevin and Nick Lamar for donating their time in helping us build the awesome new (and long overdue) cubby system for all the gym bags!

A few months back we updated the bathroom, and the sink/cabinets in the lounge. Phase 2 included the bench and cubbies, and phase 3 will include a new retail area and giving the front desk a face lift!

We can’t wait to show you all, just pardon our dust & wet paint during the work!

Section 11:

CrossFit Kids

Coach Nate is now enrolling for his Spring session of CrossFit Kids!

HPCF Members who sign up for the entire 6-week unlimited receive an additional 10% off. Contact us to receive the discount code.

Section 12:

From The Galley

Brought to you by “In The Kitchen With Coach Dave”

We are sharing 2 of our favorite recipes from this past month. 1) Shredded chicken and sweet potato patties – they take a few extra minutes to prep, but the time is worth it! 2) Vietnamese Pho is so delicious!

Section 13:
