Each month, we like to recognize one member who either demonstrated and held true to our core values; who achieved a personal goal, or; someone who is an inspiration to others in the box.
This is no easy decision… We know everyone brings something amazing to the class, each, and every day. We as coaches’ love seeing this! In fact, this is why we get up at 4:30am every morning! It’s almost impossible for us to decide among everyone!
With that said, to become recognized as a Member of the Month, we look for a few characteristics. Each member who makes this prestigious list, all have something in common – 1) an ambassador to the Peak Performance Fitness Facility philosophy; always helping others and never allowing a member to be left behind and; 2) an inspiration to others in the box community as well as someone who holds true to our Core Values:
- Build positive and lifelong relationships.
- Never settle and always strive to be better.
- Overcome self-doubt and surprise yourself daily.
- Empower people to be a positive change inside and outside of the gym.
- Change the stigma of exercising from “its work” to “its fun”.
- Create a fun yet driven class atmosphere.
- Lead by example.
- Do more and think less.
- Remember why you started.
- Be stronger than your strongest excuse.
And our Mission Mantra:
Our purpose is to be a place where we create a positive change in the daily lives of our community. We are our members’ “third place” – the community outside of home and work that they choose to spend their time with.
We do what we do in order to give people a purpose and to help them find themselves. We do what we do to show people they can overcome negative self-doubt and prove negative social influences wrong.
This month, we chose MAGGIE PICAZO! – Now we want to tell others and spotlight her for all of her hard work!

Have you tried other CrossFit boxes? If so, what sets HPCF apart from the others?: Came from Mental Image that became Peak Performance, A larger Community.
How has CrossFit changed your Life?
Many ways, physically and mentally. Changing negative thinking to a positive thinking. Helped with my depression and anxiety. I am active and less tired.
What is your biggest achievement so far, and what is your next big goal?:
Proving my doubters, including myself, which I can do things that I couldn’t before. I surprise myself every day.
What is your favorite thing about Peak Performance Fitness Facility?
The Community, even when you’re “last” you get the biggest support.
Have any advice for new members?
Don’t be afraid to face the impossible. Because that Impossible will be POSSIBLE!
