Member spotlight of the month September 2017 – Mary Hill

As you know we love recognizing our members for their hard work and dedication. You all are what makes Peak Performance Fitness Facility great!

Each month, we like to recognize one member who either demonstrated and held true to our core values; who achieved a personal goal, or; someone who is an inspiration to others in the box.

This is no easy decision… We know everyone brings something amazing to the class, each, and every day. We as coaches’ love seeing this! In fact, this is why we get up at 4:30am every morning! It’s almost impossible for us to decide among everyone!

With that said, to become recognized as a Member of the Month, we look for a few characteristics. Each member who makes this prestigious list, all have something in common – 1) an ambassador to the Peak Performance Fitness Facility philosophy; always helping others and never allowing a member to be left behind and; 2) an inspiration to others in the box community as well as someone who holds true to our Core Values:

  1. Build positive and lifelong relationships.
  2. Never settle and always strive to be better.
  3. Overcome self-doubt and surprise yourself daily.
  4. Empower people to be a positive change inside and outside of the gym.
  5. Change the stigma of exercising from “its work” to “its fun”.
  6. Create a fun yet driven class atmosphere.
  7. Lead by example.
  8. Do more and think less.
  9. Remember why you started.
  10. Be stronger than your strongest excuse.

This month, we chose Mary Hill!  – Now we want to tell others and spotlight her story!

How long have you be a Peak Performance Fitness Facility Member?  Since April, and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.

How did you find CrossFit? I actually followed HPCF on FB at the stages when it first started to transform. And I followed the progress of some of my friends and niece that workout here.

How has CrossFit changed your Life? I am more confident in myself. It has made me a stronger person mentally as well as physically.

What is your biggest achievement so far, and what is your next big goal? Finally being able to do a kipping pull-up. I have never been able to do any type of pull-up. And my next goal is to be able to do more than 5 DU in a row.

What is your favorite thing about Peak Performance Fitness Facility? I absolutely love the coaches. They are all great and really know what and how to train people. I also love the community that is here. Everyone is always so encouraging to each other, whether you have been doing this for years or whether it’s your first day. NO MAN (or woman) LEFT BEHIND

Have any advice for new members? Don’t wait!! I know it looks scary and intimidating, but it really isn’t bad. There is always a way to scale everything to your ability. Come in and try it out. What do you have to lose, besides inches and fat?
