A Quick Look Back

Another month has come and gone and now that we are into the first part of April, this means better weather is coming! This also means, we are about 1 month away from the Memorial Day Murph WOD!

But… Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s look back to all the fun stuff we had going on in March!

Social event:

We had another fun time with a great group at Mason’s Pub watching the Kenosha Area Pipes N’ Drums. Granted the restaurant was a little packed, we all got to watch them perform, then we grabbed some grub together afterwards!

Don’t miss out on our fun social events! Our next social event is the “Nautical Mile 3” on April 27th. After the competition we plan to grill out some food! If you’re not ready to compete, come hang out & cheer everyone on! We also need volunteers!

Intramural Open / The CrossFit Open:

We ended the month of March, and with it, so did the 5-week long CrossFit Open. We had a lot of fun watching everyone give it their all and the energy each Friday was amazing! We love that many of you got out of your comfort zones and did what you could! We even saw many first time PR’s! Next CrossFit Open is scheduled for October, so let’s see what that entails! More details will come out when we learn them.

March marked month number three (3) for the new Committed Club  Congratulations toDanielle Krogh and Diane Sanicola for winning the awesome gifts from RPM Jump Rope, some cool wrist wraps, krampaid, and some tasty treats from UR, Zevia and other paleo friendly goodies! Since March ended our first quarter, this meant that we did our first quarterly raffle for $50! Member were eligible if they made the committed club 3-months in a row. Our 1st quarter raffle winner is Jerime Benzow!

If you didn’t win the raffle this month, don’t worry, you still have the entire month of April to get your visits in. To qualify for the quarterly visit drawings, you just need to make 3-consecutive months in a row!

Congratulations to EVERYONE who made the
Committed Club this past month!

April 2019 Member of the Month Spotlight

Our April Member of the Month Spotlight goes to…

Johnathon Londre

Each month we like to recognize 1 member of either gym who stands out among the rest of the crowd. Each of the members we choose to highlight hold true to Peak Performance’s Core Values, which are: “Happy. Healthy. Community.”

Each one of these values stands for the following:

Healthy: Healthy stands for what we do in the gym. We improve people’s health & wellness and we increase their longevity.

Happy: Happy stands for how we conduct our business. We promote a positive and empowering environment for our members and staff to thrive in.

Community: Community is what we do it for. We are cultivating a community of people dedicated to improving their health and wellness and a community where everyone feels welcome and has a sense of belonging.

John, who is a competitive mountain bike racer, is used to the competitive side of sport, but he came to CrossFit to see if he could improve his stamina and endurance. John says that in just a few short months, the workouts and daily challenges of the workouts have definitely helped him on the courses! Read more below…

Upcoming Events To Mark Your Calendars

(Click the links below for more info)

A Special Note: We’ve had some feedback from members who are not on the social media platforms (Facebook) and therefor feel that they cannot see upcoming events, or other gym news.

Solution: To help these members who prefer not to use social media, we have now been posting ALL events to our website and have created a link at the top of the home page that reads “Upcoming Events” for easy access! You can also access the Events Page here <—

Section 4:

Sustainable Nutrition Seminar

Our next in house seminar is here! This seminar will be in 2 parts:

Purchase tickets here (1 ticket purchase gives you access to part 1 or part 2. To attend both, you may purchase 2 with a 10% discount – contact us!)

Part 1: 10a-11a will be for beginner athletes who want to learn about the first steps to eating healthier but have no experience in nutrition or food tracking. We will discuss food traps, reading food labels and learning the basics of nutrition and foods to avoid. These steps can be implemented immediately with little effort and will help you see more results and live a healthier life.

Part 2: 11a-12noon will be geared towards more advanced athletes who have a basic understanding of food, macros and have tracked their foods. This 1 hour seminar will go more in depth in sleep habits, mindful eating, and ensuring we are meeting all of our “Macro Needs” and some ins & outs of the tracking mistakes.

Athletes may register for 1, or both seminars.

ONLY 30 spots available for both seminars first come first served!

Section 5:

Class Updates: Pilates

Due to several commitments this summer, our Pilates instructor Angie requested to suspend all Pilates Classes from now through the remainder of the summer months. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but at this point in time, Angie has been unable to commit to classes weekly, and we didn’t want to cancel classes on everyone last minute due to her other commitments. Because of this, we will suspend pilates until further notice. We hope to bring her back towards the end of summer when her schedule frees up!

Captain’s Log

Episode :

From WODIFY updates, to the Annual Memorial Day Murph WOD, this episode has you covered!

A few months ago, we introduced the concept of combining our class check in and workout logging systems into 1 app called WODIFY. Through the testing phase with Coaches and using some Ambassador members as guinea pigs, we learned that the system was just not a right fit for us….

We also discuss many of the fun things we have planned for this quarter of the year, which include: Mother’s & Father’s Day WODs, our Annual Brewers game outing, Memorial Day Murph and a Law Enforcement Fundraiser WOD coming in May.

All this and MORE on this week’s podcast episode!

P.s. We are now on Stitcher! (Not sure what Stitcher is? ….It’s a podcast thing.)

Section 10:

From The Passenger Deck – Social Comments of the Month

Thanks to everyone who shared their love stories on social media! We enjoyed reading them, and it helps us MORE THAN YOU KNOW! But, the best part is watching all of you guys and gals crush your goals! Thanks for the words of endearment, but you put in all the work, we just help you get there! Keep it up everyone! Special shout out to Mike Preston, Stephanie Farrell, Holly Berry, Nikki Benzow and Sherry Wirth!

Section 11:

March’s Swashbuckler Award

This month’s shout out goes out to Chris Miller! Chris started just 6-short weeks ago and already has seen some amazing changes and results in his body! He was so excited to share this photo with us after just 5-weeks in! Picture on the left is when he started, and the one on the right is his 5-week progress check in (He added the smiley for effect…lol) Great Job Chris!

Want to be featured? We scour social media for all of your before & after photos, and when we see you post it, we try and grab it to showcase all the hard work and dedication you all put in, day in and day out! So… Get out there and share your amazing results!

Section 12:

Ship Upgrades – Phase 2

Check out the awesome new retail area in the Kenosha Gym! We felt like giving the retail area a little love and to help showcase some of the cool products we carry!

Thanks Nick Lamar for helping with this project!

Tell us what you all think? Did we nail it?

Phase 3 is our final phase for the spring, which includes a new cubbie system behind the front desk for coaches to store their shoes and bags in!

We can’t wait to show you all, just pardon our dust & wet paint during the work!

Section 13:

From The Galley

Brought to you by “In The Kitchen With Coach Dave”

Can you say D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!!!! This one is really good. The sweetness of the nectarines balances the jalapeno spice perfectly! Great for one of the first grilled recipes of the year!

Section 14:
